Frequently Asked Questions

What Size Trees Do You Install?

We install mature ball-and-burlap (B&B) trees sold from our nursery, ranging fron approximately 2-inch to 6-inch caliper (12-20 feet tall), depending on the species. Evergreen trees are typically available from 5 to 14 feet tall. Larger specimens may also be available for select projects.

Do You Offer On-Site Consultations?

Yes. We provide on-site consulatations throughout Rockford and Northern Illinos. We will evaluate your property, discuss your goals, and recommend the right trees. 

When Is the Best Time to Plant Trees?

Spring through Fall is an excellent tine to plant trees. With proper watering and care, trees establish successfully throughout the growing season.

What Should I Do Before Installation?

Before installation, use landscape paint or flags to mark the exact location of each tree. Mark any sprinkler heads, invisible dog fences, landscape lighting, septic systems, or other private utilies. We will contact J.U.L.I.E. to have public underground utilites marked before installation.

What if I have a Fence?

Larger trees are installed using a tracked skid steer fitted with a tree spade. We can access fenced yards when the gate opening is wide enough. If fence panels must be temporarily removed for access, an additional fee applies.

How Should I Water My New Trees?

Newly planted trees take at least one to two years to acclimate. Water with a slow, steady stream (the width of a pencil) at the base of the tree, three to four times a week. Water deeply, and adjust based on heat and rainfall. We provide detailed watering instructions with every installation.
