We grow and sell large maple, oak, and shade trees that provide faster shade and a more established look for your landscape. Because many of our trees are grown locally in Rockford, they are already acclimated to our climate and seasonal changes. This can help reduce transplant stress and give them a stronger start after planting. Their larger, established size gives years of growth from the start, so you don't have to wait for a smaller tree to mature. Our shade trees range from 12–20 feet tall, depending on variety and seasonal availability. Available Maple & Shade Tree Inventory
- Multi-Stem Autumn Blaze Maple (16–18') — Multi-trunk form, fast growth rate and vibrant fall color. Mature Height 50-60' tall. Great if you need shade quickly.
- Redpointe Maple (3") — Upright structure with a pyramidal shape and scarlet-red fall color. Mature height 30-40' tall. Highly adaptive to clay soil.
- Red Sunset Maple (4") (limited quantity) — Moderate-fast-growing shade tree known for brilliant red-orange fall color. Oval canopy. Mature height 40-60' tall. Perfect low maintenance tree.
- Crimson King Maple (4") (Limited quantity; reserve now for fall installation)— Deep maroon-purple foliage throughout summer that provides bold color and contrast throughout the growing season. Has a dense, round canopy. Mature height 25-35' tall. Excellent as an accent tree or focal point.
- October Glory (3") -Dense, rounded to oval canopy. Turns bright red-orange in late fall. Moderate growth rate. Mature height 40-50 tall. Great choice if you want fall color that lasts later into the season.

Caliper Size to Height Reference
Shade trees are typically sold by caliper, which measures the trunk diameter approximately six inches above the ground. The chart below provides approximate tree heights by caliper size. Actual height varies by variety and growing conditions.
- 2-inch Caliper: approximately 10-12 feet tall
- 3-inch Caliper: approximately 14-16 feet tall
- 4-inch Caliper: approximately 16-18 feet tall
- 5-inch Caliper: approximately 18-20 feet tall
